The Bodum Columbia is a thermal french press coffee maker. Thanks to it’s double-wall, it acts like a thermos, which helps keep coffee hot for longer than glass french presses.
The Columbia is made entirely from stainless steel – the double wall carafe, the mesh, the plunger are all steel. As a result it is easy to keep clean (it is dishwasher safe).
The thermal effect keeps coffee hot for up to two hours, and the lid twists shut, so that you can prevent heat escaping from the spout.
It has a capacity of 34 ounces (1 liter) which makes up to 8 cups of coffee depending on how big (or small) your mug size is. For a normal mug, I would say it makes about four cups.
Apart from the thermal effect, the other benefit of this press is that stainless steel doesn’t break, unlike the glass presses. Which means that your Columbia should last you for years. The retro rounded look is a throw-back to the 1950′s and is enough to help make any breakfast table look elegant.
