To get the most out of the Biggest Loser cookbooks and recipes, you really need a good nutritional scale that tells you exactly what is in the food you are going to cook. Luckily, in conjunction with Taylor, they’ve put out a Biggest Loser glass top nutritional scale.
The scale has a capacity of 3 kilograms or 3000 mililiters, which is equivalent to 6.6 pounds and 105 fluid ounces. It has an easy-to-read backlit LCD screen and a tare function.
The most important feature of this scale is the way it gives you readings on 11 different nutritional values (for calories, sodium, fat, cholesterol, carbs, protein, total sugars, fiber and G.I. value) for 1400 pre-programmed foods. You don’t have to memorise or write down food codes, the machines searches them for you as you type in the food type.
The weighing platform is made of tempered glass and is easy to wipe clean. This scale uses double AA batteries. It comes in two colors, silver and white – see below. Taylor have also produced a plain kitchen scale (without the nutritional values), it’s a lot cheaper and I’ve included it on the right for information:
